Well after getting grief for the Rocket wheels from the “g***er purest” I have relented and made the change to old style Americans.

    Looks good. Bad-*** and traditional.

  4. If it looks like a G***er, stands like a G***er and sounds like a G***er, it must be a G***er. I like it, looks good. I'd change out the front tires, but what do I know, I don't have a g***er, I don't know nutin' about G***ers.

yep, the front look like you are rollin heavy. a slimmer front would look better. I like the look of the wheels and the rest of the car, and I too would like to see the before

The front wheels are only 6" wide. and the tires are 235/75/15. They are about 27" tall. The rears are 30" tall and 10" wide. I think the angle of the photo is throwing the realative preception off. Plus you can't really see the front wheel well opening very well.

And yes, those are vintage old styles. Same owner for the last forty years.

I liked the look of the Rockets, but honestly there just wasn't enough wheel and tire plus they were not vintage or correct for a D/G cl*** Tri-5 Chevy car. If it were a track only car I would have found a set of skinny old styles or something, but as a street car I like the idea of more meat on the ground.

Well if the folks on here don't like it now they don't have anybody to blame but themselves, hell I have acted on every suggestion that has been made!

Do you think it would look better in primer? ;)

Moon Rocket - it's your car! Don't be lettin' others tell you what to do with it.
***uming your avatar shows the 'Before', that looked fine too.
Just so long as you're enjoyin' it, that's all that matters.
Let the others go and build their own.
    Cheers.

Oh, BTW, those front tyres do look a little big, but................. it's your car!!!! SO, who cares??
    Cheers - again.

It's a rare day when we come across a car, we wouldn't change a thing on.
We all are influenced by others, whether we admit it or not.
The content owner/builder will ***ess all factors and create their ideal example from that information.
I like your car..keep it yours.

With a big ol' "rat fink" on the hood, and a skull & crossbones on the trunk lid...:D:eek:

  23. Moon Rocket, that is one BAD *** looking 56 Chev. It reminds me of the old monogram 55 Chevy Street Machine kit. I definitely approve. Adam

Sorry, I can't beat around the bush. Those front tires are WAY too big. Look through some old magazines and see how it was really done.

I don't worry about them, I do enjoy hearing them. Some I agree with some I realize the folks offering them don't know ****! :D

But I am smart enough to realize even my ideas can be improved upon. Sometimes it's the smallest, simplest suggestion that takes a cool Hot Rod to a Bad *** Hot Rod!

I still think it's the prospective of the photo that makes the front tires appear too big. They are tall but they are also narrow.

See, they look totally different in the photo below.

The five spoke wheels look way better than the ten spoke wheels. I'd keep the paint shiney. There are probably hundreds of flat black tri five Chevies.

I suggested the primer in jest. That is 35 year old lacquer with great patina. It ain't going no where.
