when i was a young lad of 11 in 1965 i like alot of our generation was in a vortex of changes with times changeing my uncle John Underwood saw this and did an unselfishly thing, he gave me his model A truck. he felt it would give me direction ! what a wise man it did infact save me many times. today this good man p***ed this world for the lords arms. 86 years old. Like my uncle Hershel they gave me the tools to stay on task and to remember what was truly importent in life. uncle John I love you and will always have you in my heart and soul.
I love my uncle as much too. After my dad figured out that he had much more important things to do than raising brother and myself, my uncle Craig (at age 18 or 19!) stepped in and kept me involved with car stuff as a kid... Good thoughts for your uncle and yourself.
Many years ago my favorite uncle Richie gave me a 1952 Jaguar XK120. A light blue roadster, wow, I was in heaven. Of course it was a Tonka, haha, but I'm sure he led me down this trail of wonderful vintage iron.
Sounds like he really made a lasting impression on you as a kid,,and he lived a long life,,He is in a better place today. HRP
I have/had two uncles, both are good men in their own right... Both have/had their own faults and or experiences. I love them both.
Sorry to hear about your uncle. If it wasn't for my uncle Ken helping me out in my early days, I probably wouldn't have gotten very far in this hobby.
My uncle John is the one who got me into this hobby. He is getting on in years and isn't so healthy anymore and I dread the day I hear the news he p***ed. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
got a nephew & im thinking of doing the same except with a 59 el camino . My only hope is that someday I'll be remembered as you remember your uncle.Sorry for your loss
