Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Malcolm, Apr 8, 2013.

  1. Driving in 23* weather will definitely make you question your sanity won't it? Ask me how I know? Looks like you had fun. It's on my list.

  2. Looks like a great trip Nick. Congratulations on TRJ pick, can't get much better than that!! :)

  3. That's awesome thanks for sharing! Congratulations on the TRJ pick it was well deserved:cool:

  4. Your perseverance and determination contributed to the rusty hulk I have in the garage now! I hope to be able to drive mine to the roundup someday too.

  6. Congrats Nick. Very nice roadster and you drive the shit out of it which makes it even better in my book. Take care and I'll see you down the road.
    Later,
    Dick

  7. So proud to be a buddy of Nick's, living thru these young bloods is very cool for an ol geezer! Rock on my brothers! ~sololobo~

  8. You're just fuckin NUTS, you know that doncha? No sane person drives an open car from Omaha to Austin with snow on the ground...............I mean yeah, Tuck and I took my closed 33 ford pickup out for a ride in the Omaha snow one day but we didn't go over 3 miles from the house.
Wish I'd been riding with you.
    Congrats, buddy.

    Thanks, Rob!

    Thank you!

    Thanks, Mitchell!

That's awesome, Dan -- had hoped to see you in Austin.

Thanks again, Ryno! As always, great to see you.

Thanks, Dick! See you in Des Moines.

    Thanks, Larry!

Haha... driving in the cold wasn't as bad as it seems. The multiple layers of clothing and my full-face motorcycle helmet helped a ton. Thanks, Rocky!

You are the man. I THOUGHT I was cold driving the van in 36 degree temps on the way to LSRU, but after reading this I realize I must have been mistaken. Good one Nick.

Google says just under 850 miles. 1300km

Looked like an awesome trip Malcolm. Reminds me of the early spring motorcycle rides because I couldn't wait any longer for warmer weather lol. Going to have some great lifelong memories for sure

    Thanks alot!

Haha... It was quite a site, I'm sure. I don't care if it looked funny - the helmet made a huge difference and also helped when we were driving through cold rain near Wichita.

Thanks again for the T-shirt, John -- the awards you made are very cool and nicely done, too!
Funny - Steve, that drove his '34 Coupe down with me, made a comment about being cold in his car (no heater), but that he had nothing to complain about since the car is completely enclosed and has windows. :)

Yep, about 850 miles one-way. Had we left earlier on Sunday, and there weren't bad storms close to home, we could've easily made it all the way back in one day.
..And I hear ya about riding a motorcycle before it gets warm out - I've done the same thing! Just around town, though.

I was lucky enough to ride shot gun with Nick on Saturday to the Magnolia for breakfast and out to the show. A lot of fun. Also rode back with Jason in his A coupe that afternoon. Great to meet you guys and thanks heaps for the ride. Congratulations on the award and the 1700 mile trip. Great car(s).
