Do we have any vendors on here that build drop center drag links? I'm to the point on my 63 Tempest G***er that I need to get the steering box and cross steer link in place before I put in the cross members for the motor/trans.

Right now everything, steering arms, tie rod link, motor, oil pan, steering box and pitman are all in the best place possible. The only problem is my cross steer link will hit my balancer.

I just need to either have about a 4" drop in the center, or I would prefer a "drop" about 3" forward would solve everything.

    Thanks Stan

Here's a couple, I really want to keep the front steer arm where it is so that I have no interference issues with the springs,

  4. i see you have the tie rod and drag link in front of the axle.....where are you going to mount the steering box? i also see that the bolt on steering arms are on the top of the spindles , can you put them on the bottom?

Hello 3 window, the first pic was just a mock up, I had tried several different configurations before I arrived at where I am now.

I had tried springs over axle, springs under axle to get the height that I wanted. From there I was more interested in packaging.

I wanted to go all front steer, because I run an oversize oil pan on that 462 Poncho, also I am trying to keep the 2x4 setup under the hood, so it sits down a bit.

The tie rod arms forward created an ackerman issue, and with the offset on my rims I could not mod the arms enough to get what I needed.

The steering arm back (along with the Vega box) would have created a header issue, besides the original box was upfront so I wanted to keep the steering shaft angle as close to original as possible.

So this seems to be the best of all worlds with the tie rod arms back, they still clear the pan, and have correct ackerman, with the box forward, (yes I did have to "clock" the Vega box 180 to make it work).

I now have all of the header/starter room I need and have an almost factory angle on my shaft so the column will sit in it's stock position.

But because I clocked that pitman 180 to make everything right, it is putting my cross-steer arm closer to the motor than I wanted, I really don't want to put the motor back any further, and everything else falls into place nicely.

Just need to get this rod to go around my balancer and all will be good, something like this is what I need,

It should not affect anything else and it will allow my drag link to be both parallel and level.

    Thanks Stan

Yeah, that's probably what I'll do, just figured if any one made a "proven" part I would rather go that route, at least on steering.
