Looks like the plymouth fury factory dual quad air cleaner. Here are photos of 1957 fury set up. Very similar to those used in the movie christine.

I would say it's a '57-'58 dual quad piece. Could be hemi, poly, or 383.

Certainly one air cleaner from a 1958-59 Mopar dual quad.

1956s were batwing design, the 57s were individual cleaners, but a very different design.

I wouldn't say he gave it away, maby worth more but it's going on someones project :) sometimes it's worth more to help someone then what you might get in cash, thats what separates us from the people hawking all the parts at prices no one can afford.

  11. It is only money. Helping a fellow Hamber out. I hope the buyer did not purchase it to put back up for sale!

We have a rule in our club that if a member NEEDs your wall hanger parts he gets them, because our goal is to get stuff on the road... if the right part can help than cool... better driving them than having them sit on a wall and collect dust, $40 bones richer and got to help... PRICELESS

I bet he is going to RESELL IT. That air cleaner was worth at least $200.

why so negative? I know for a fact a lot of stuff on here has been sold for far less then it's worth ,just to help someone out to get their car moving . not every person has a hidden agenda.

You know what... if the hamber asked you what you wanted for it and you said 40 bucks would make you happy then thats the way it goes and no foul really...if you asked for more and he talked you down or you asked him to make a fair offer and you took the 40 bucks then you were duped and that really wasnt what a fellow hamber should do right.....either way you are happy so doesnt matter...I just hope he didnt make that offer..guys got some balls...your en***led to whats its worth or at least a bit under if you want to be a nice guy..not being negative just hopeing it was you that came up w/ the 40 bucks price and not the guy that bought it..that would take some nads to make that offer...but hey it makes the world go round right:D
Should be seeing that on fleabay in about a week or so....J/K

Thanks for the wisdom but here is where I am coming from... Whenever I sell something to a fellow HAMB'r it better be right, because the HAMB is family... the HAMB is a band of allies...

I wasn't going to respond to the above, but I was so bothered by the negativity that it has stuck with me for a couple of days now...

for the record, the conversation is pasted from my PM's and went like this:

"Hamber": How much to buy it here and not on ebay ? Thanks
Preacher: I have no idea what it is worth, which is why i threw it on the ebay... I bet it will fit in one of those USPS boxes that are about $8 to ship... so let me know what is fair and it is yours...
    "Hamber":$40
Preacher:If you shoot me your address, I will put it in the mail to you on Monday if I can make it to the PO... I'll let you know if I can't cram it into one of those anything under 80lbs boxes.
"Hamber":K,,how you want payment ?? and preft a good size box with lots a news paper so it don't get all bent up ( the mail is brutal anymore )
Preacher: Check is fine (then I sent him the listing so he knew it was his)
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...SU:MOTORS:1123
we then switched to an email thread and the hamber is psyched to put it on their drag car...

As it turns out the person has been to my town, we got a chance to talk and I have one more great experience on the HAMB...

This is why the HAMB is such a great site and why I keep coming back...

PLAY it RWDD>>A few years back I posted that my daughter had shown me her new sticker that she found and used!... as it turns out it was my sacred HAMB shift pattern window sticker that I had been saving to put on a car... I was griping about it in a post, because I lOVED those stickers and about a week later one arrived in the mail from a fellow HAMBer... thanks Phil1934 (and wish I could get my hands on another one) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133872
I would be willing to bet there are a few opportunists and consumers that use that use their HAMB relationships... but in general they aren't around after a couple of years, because people know about them, word spreads quick in the car scene...

But helping each other out it is what we do around here and that's what makes this place cool...
