Here is one of my favorite F1's. It belongs to Rick Dale, from the TV show on the History Channel, American Restorations.

Yeah man, thats a nice truck. I dig the show but never got to see a shot of the motor. Please tell me he's running a Ford motor.

After some research I now know the dash in the truck is from a 52 Ford Customline

beware using dropped leaves on old trucks!!!

i'll guarantee that the original spring leaves have sagged over the years. the new dropped leaves (or monoleaf) will almost certainly raise the truck instead of lowering it.

johnny's '56 big window truck sat 2" higher after installing front dropped leaves than it did before. he then opted for an aspen/volare suspension.

i've seen and heard of this numerous other times also.

i'm not necessarily advocating the aspen/volare (although that's what clarence, the panel truck in my avitar, has) but only to do sufficient research into what you're doing before you drop ca$h on parts.

b-t-w; i installed the aspen/volare clip in clarence over 20 years ago. rebuild parts (read that rubber bushings) were a lot more readily available then. ball joints/tie rod ends/bearings are still available at almost any parts house.

i dropped the **** out of my 56 f100 by re-arching the springs front and back, also did a 2 inch drop shackle in back, I reversed eyed the front main springs for an additional 1 1/4 drop

So far the motor seems to have been badly neglected but has suffured no real damage so the rebuild should be pretty straight forward

As and when I get some free time parts are getting cleaned and detailed for the rebuild

I managed to pick up the missing parts I needed to complete my pedal ***embly, unfortunately though the package was damaged in transit and the MC push rod was lost!

If anyone has a spare push rod and a V8 gas linkage let me know!

    Hiya Mike,

they defo do dropped leaves for your year. I went for 'Posies' springs in the end but CPP have monoleaves if you want to put your life on the line.
