Hi all, I moved a '47 Teardrop from Sacramento to Redding yesterday. On the way we stopped at a rest stop and two older guys followed us in and asked about the tear. One said he had a '32 Ford PU in his garage and he was thinking about selling it. I am going to see it as soon as he gets back from fishing. After Redding, we went to Weaverville and picked up the barn find! A '34 Ford Chopped three window. Been inside since '62. No rust, no motor or trans. Cool car. Will post PICS later. They are still out there. My buddy is stoked about his "new" three window. Lots of thumbs up bringing it home. Steven
No kidding, how can you write something like that and hold out on us for pictures? We're freaking out here! I wanna see the coupe AND the teardrop trailer, and the pickup if possible Pictures good, words, not so much.
It's just like the end of "It's A Wonderful Life". Miracles DO happen. Of course, not to me, but they DO happen.... Cool story. Pictures didn't show up for some strange reason....
When you start a new post (and have the pic ready in "my do***ents") scroll down a little and it says "manage atachments" click it and up load it. Finish the post........
makes me want to throw up a sign in my back window saying will buy old car and drive around ukiah or redding or other "hick towns". Well, Ukiah is more of a hippie town...
Yea. Looks like there is definitely something under that white primer. As for the find...WOW. I can't even believe it. That's some good karma payback right there for sure.
I have 3 barn cars, 2 came from allentown, pa. area, other one from New Orleans, you have to network and hunt all media.
Holy **** thats beautiful. I'd love to find out more about it, history, whats it runnin', you know **** like that. Theres gotta be some older guys around the area that remember that car. Whits the bobbed rears and all I can just see some pie crusts under there "back in the day". Hell maybe theres some old drag lettering under that white paint, or maybe it was just one hell of a street fighter. When ya get a chance, fill us in. Drew
Thatll show all, theres hope yet. Cant wait to find, my find of a lifetime. Heres hoping itll be soon. Lots of fun to be had there. I will await the progress reports. Cheers Roland
Not just bobbed, but they reworked a bead edge in as well. What a beauty. So will this be the new method for tin hunting in the future. Just hook up a trailer with an old car on top, Cruise around the small town,s and every now and then stop at a local gas station and let the old locals roll up for a conversation. Get out your note pad and write it all down. "what,s that sir, you have a 32 phaeton on blocks, I,ll see if i can fit you in next week, Have to checkout a Deusenburg first". Bye the way, IS,NT IT ABOUT TIME YOU WIPED THAT SMILE OF YOUR FACE.
Now that's a coupe!!!!!!!! Can you take some interior shots, gauges & things like that, Firewall area That makes my barn find 34 coupe look sick!!!! I'd be stoked with it having the right chop, the bobbed fenders, & the killer grille shell. I'm jealous!!!!! What kind of bones did he have to lay out for this score you both are lucky dogs!!!!!!!
I agree with Cyclone !! We demand to see more pix !!! Interior / rollbar / seats ... Instruments ... Klaz
