Someone mentioned The Lowes to me. . . I've seen a few movies there and the place is absolutely amazing. I'm going to look into it and see what they say, and what the rates are.

My concern about doing it during, or at a show is that everyone will be too busy looking at cars, and tending to their own cars. . . so I may wind up playing a bunch of movies to an empty room.

The drive-in idea is obviously ideal, I just think that it gets dark too late during the time of year that most drive-ins are open. . . I'd hate to have to wait until 8/9:00pm to get the first movie going. It would limit the amount of movies that we can screen.

I've got some ideas. I want to find a small theater somewhere, where there are restaurants, and maybe a hotel in case anyone wants to make a weekend of it.

I'll beat the bushes and report back.

Thanks for all of the feedback so far, it really helps.

I've been to that drive in years ago. Very old school. This is a good idea !

Ron, keep us posted on that. I think the key to this will be getting some short films that represent other regions in the world. Stuff from Europe, Australia, The North East (U.S.), South West, etc. . .

Getting closer. . . my buddy and myself sat down for dinner last night to discuss our plans for a "Hot Rod Film Festival"

Personally I'd like to include anything transportation related. How would guys feel about seeing a short film about old Motorcycles tossed in with movies Hot Rods and Customs?

We made a list of potential locations. . . now I need to get one the phone and keep making calls until I get to the theater that doesn't hang up on me.

As far as dates, we were thinking sometime between mid-October and mid-November. Just as the car season here in The North East is winding down. Maybe one last hurrah before the winter sets in.

    Thoughts?

  8. That time of year sounds great for me. But what the hell am I saying since I have never made a film before and when its done and sent to you, you may not like it and so on and so on blah blah blah.

Or it might be the best thing I've ever seen in my life. I hope this can work, and grow to inspire people to make content with this festival in mind.

    Cool.
As it turns out I'm making a DVD now, will be done in about 6 weeks. So you're welcome to use any of the new stuff off that too.
