hello all would anyone have a idea what the rear taillight mount height on a 37 ford coupe be, doing a street rod old school taillights, if pictures are avalible please send thanks send to roadster601@aol.com
It depends upon how much air is in the tires. All kidding aside, what do you want? Height from ground, distance from end of fender? What picture, from side of car? I have a tape measure and camera but only enough time to do it once. Charlie Stephens
thanks charlie i guess a picture on side and looking at rear light fron trunk to use as reference and i guess a measure from tailpan bottom to bottom front of light mount
Just take exact measurements with momma's cloth tape at your left hand fender tail light and get the drill out. Run the measurements up from the bottom of the fender, from the whell opening and the edge where it meets the body.
I have been scratching my head trying to figure out why you sent me a PM about 37 tail lights,,now I knew you are looking for a reference point on a coupe. I have 37 tail lights on my 32 pickup so I'm sure I can't help with the position of the lights. HRP
does anyone in hamb have a 37 ford coupe with rear standard taillights mounted to there fenders please get back to me thanks
Huh??? You use the opposite fender for your reference point. Don't you have a left hand fender?? You need some one do the work for you? You are speaking to someone who has a 37 coupe with an original left hand taillight who installed a R/H tail light on his right hand fender.
The center of the tail light lens on my '37 Ford Coupe is 23 1/2 inches above the ground. The bottom of the fender (which is the same height as the tailpan bottom) is 13 1/2 inches. Therefore the center of the tail light lens is 10 inches above the of the tailpan bottom. Charlie Stephens
You're starting on the wrong foot there buddy. If you want help from here on out you have to explain yourself. We all tried but you seem to not get it.
The bottom point of the stock mount is 5 1/4 inches from the seam (measured perpendicular to the seam) and 5 1/4 inches above the bottom of the fender. You might want to find a loose fender and make a template since there are a lot of curved surfaces. Charlie Stephens
