Looks fun. Good luck not getting side tracked... I am trying to do the same thing with a car of mine. It is tough not to drop everything and get on it..

You must be lying about being from Reading... Theres no way there is sheet metal that nice anywhere in Pa!!!

I also hope you are keeping the channel, and that tail light/bumper thingy is wayyyyyy cool, keep that too! And give us a history lesson on it too

    Cool car.

I'd have a tough time keeping the rear end, even if it is different. Looks like a MAC truck or something.

Glory be, there have been more 32 Cabriolets dug out of places in the last 20 years than I thought even existed. And most were hotrods.
    Good on you!

    Neat!
Lets all be thankful the previous "Customizer" stopped after he did the rear tailight/bumper and fender treatment!

Please tell us that you are going to build a proper hotrod out of this. That rear end treatment is like a bad acid trip. Please lose that as fast as possible. It would have already been pitched out in the front yard before the pictures were taken if it was mine. Copy the one above^^^^^^^ in style and you'll be on the right track! Good luck.

I thought this was the same channeled red 32 cabriolet that was parked in a Pa. shed since mid 60s, that was on here 2-3 years ago...but it is not.

The other one was similar story, but that story ended with no updates.

OK the guy that I bought it from bought the car as a hot rod in the mid 60s when he was in high school. He said it came from the Allentown area with the 392 hooked to a late 30s ford trans and rear. Not really sure how it held together with that combo! Anyway he had plans for it but it just sat in the garage, for a loooong time he did collect some parts over the years. Me and his son were good friends in school and when I was in high school and realized how cool the car in the garage was I told him that if he ever wanted to sell it I was interested. I would ask him about it every so often and now ten years later I got a call and couldn't p*** it up. I got married last year and bought a house so I have to be a little more careful with money. Took me a little while to pay him but I got it. The channel is really cobbled, I will have to get some pictures of it, and I'm 6'3" so not sure how that would work. All the sheet metal is very solid, door window slots were covered and I'm not sure whats going on with the quarters/rear fenders as the wheel well body line isn't there. I'm hoping that the "body man" liked bondo and didn't hack anything, the inner wheel well looks good from what I can tell though. The back bumper I have no idea what it is or where it came from but I really think it looks terrible

I'm thinking the rear bumper may have been a 'keep the law' happy, later add on... but that is merely conjecture on my part.

The car sat for a long time... and you older fellas know how the cops and the laws used to be about hot rods.

    Neat car.

Please check to see if there is green paint under the maroon. This was the first Hot Rod I ever saw on the road back around 1961 in Westport, Ct. Bob [IMG]

Some more pictures... You can see some of things that the person did who made this a hot rod. The channel is done by welding the body right on the frame. The rear fenders were welded on under the wheel wells but unfortunately in doing this they hammered in the body line to make it all smooth:mad: Oh well it's still a 32 and its mine now.
