I was contacted from the film commissioner of the state of Colorado and there are looking for a some cars that are from the 50's and early 60's. The film is being dated in 1962. Heres a copy of the email. Let me know if your interested. Brock the movie takes place in 1962 so we're looking for cars mainly for set dressing on the street from 1962 and the late 50s. They're starting to film in Longmont and around Boulder in the next few weeks, so if you know anyone that would be interested in lending out their car, please let me know or feel free to p*** along my info. Thank you! Lauren Lauren Grimshaw Deputy Film Commissioner Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade
Just read the fine print in the contract. I did this once thinking it was going to be cool to see my car in a movie, never again.
Cars for dressing is no problem, you get to move it from place to place. It's just background. If they want someone else to drive or move it -- forget it.
or if they will " upgrade, refresh or modify the existing look as needed and return it to its borrowed condition" lets just say when they don't have a Hollywood budget to go out and build 12 cars to use as needed , store them in a back lot or destroy them when done, yours will get treated the same, without the Hollywood budget.
Unfortunately that's how it is. Just make sure there is insurance. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
A close friend rented 2 cars to be used in a movie filmed in the lower part of the state,,he made good money and the cars were in very good original condition when they picked them up. 6 months later the damage was unbelievable,,scratches from mounting cameras on the front fenders, the 46 ford had the entire right side wiped out where the car had hit a tree in a chase scene. His 39 Buick fared better but the windshield was cracked and they painted the car like a taxi,, He was so disgusted that he ended up selling both cars. HRP
Correct, He signed a contract and they agree to pay X number of dollars a day,,they payed exactly what they promised. HRP
Send a letter to Pete Chapouris, ask him about filming "California Kid", & how his '34 farred. Movie companies are NOT to be trusted with your pride & joy!!
