A couple of friends and a case of beer usually gets it done for me!

More work to build the tool than to just lift the bed off without it.

I think it's a great idea. At my age it's hard to find old men that can still lift.

Guess us North Carolina boys think alike. Just pulled a short bed off a 76 F150 yesterday using three 2x4s just like shown. Used the same rig when pulling the long bed off my 74 F100. My cost was $0 as I already had all the lumber etc.

I think it is a clever idea. This technique might not lend itself to a step side though. It would also be easier to have a driveable vehicle to pull away from the bed once the bed is in the air.

  13. When I wanted the bed off my OT daily-I bet the teenage boys across the street a pizza they couldn't lift it. 10 mins later it was on saw horses in my drive and a large deluxe was on it's way;)

Careful on worn out beds the sides can bow out enough to come off the lift

and like i said before this was a solo mission didnt have any help .....when you lift a long bed up it a bit tricker to have the whole bed in the air to where you can move it around freely ...short bed and older models are way easier and you dont need anything but to bolt on and lift ....i guess everyone has there ways of doing things hahah ....
