Barona antique drags this month

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by applekrate, Apr 11, 2013.

  1. Curious if any here have attending this event? I am thinking of making the drive from the Phoenix area to attend next week.
Also wondering how the facility is too.

    thanks

We are going with our flathead dragster. It's a beautiful track with a nice return road. You have to do a pretty quick u-turn at the end of the track so depending on your speed or turning radius it may be a little difficult.

The condition of the track is pretty good, I've never had any issues.

If you don't mind the drive it should be a fun day. Last time we were able to get a lot of runs in.

It's most definately worth the trip. I've travelled out from Phoenix both as a spectator and twice to race and had a blast each time. The Antique Drags are basically an all day grudge race, just keep lining up and running all day with a short lunch break. Barona is located up in the mountains and has a great atmosphere, you can camp in the pits. The track is a nice 1/8 mile. As said before, the shut down is a little short with a sharp u-turn, but as long as you are aware of this, it is very managable.

I always have a good time there.

  7. I would like to let everyone here know that I have rented Barona for Friday night June 14 and Saturday night, June 15. Am going to run a few programs including the Nostalgic Show & GO! We will run 3 brackets plus grudge racing and time trials. Hope to see you there, esp Sat night! Gates will open at 2 and racing starts at 4pm and goes into the night until we finish. Should be a good time
