Here are some Lunar Lander ch***is pics for those into that sort of thing. It ain't all glory around here whipping up stupid looking bodies and stuff.

Before anyone says anything, note the "milk jug" gas tank (Cabela's $89), store bought battery box ($15 speedway), intake I got from suedesled, disc brakes 'cause I couldn't find any drums but didn't look to hard anyway. I am sure there is something else "wrong" or "off the shelf" with it but I'll just point out the obvious to save you all the trouble.;)

Ch***is is 2x4 tubing tapered in the front to give it a model A look, Bob Bleed sweep, rear kickup (I don't remember how much).

I tacked the framework in for the gas tank when the body was on to make sure it all fit. I was upside down and cramped for space. When I took the body off I could see that it wan't anywhere near square so I redid it all last night and plated the back sides and bottom to protect the tank from debris.

I put some extensions on the back of the frame to mount the battery and stuff. Space is TIGHT! I will have to mount an optima battery on it's side in there.

you should have no problem making long trips with that size tank in there. It's funny how space for all the stuff runs short really quick.

Those loops are stout and are actually an intregal part of the ch***is. I wanted them in there since the drive shaft is right next to your ***. Just in case it ever came apart. It made it a lot easier to bend the ****** tunnel over a couple heavy chunks of metal too.

Very clean construction, I like it. And thanks for the boat tank idea, I was worried about getting a custom tank fabbed for mine, now a few more hairs on my head are safe.

This is the stupid question of the post - is it okay to have those rear hairpins at that angle?

    Told you it was dumb:rolleyes:

I too love the ch***is work you can lay big fat beads and no warpage! Plus I love to piss my neighbors off grinding into the wee hours.

Got my front springs back today, and they look like a bunch of ****! I'm working with them the way they are but I'll have to redo half of the job I paid them to do. If I knew they were going to do a hack job I would have only took them the top spring, and did the rest myself. Oh well it's like you say "you just can't have nice stuff"!

Just wanted to kick this up to the top, and complain a little.

Lunar Lander? Did someone say Lunar Lander? Sweet man. But before I get started let me just say, disc brakes? What were you thinking? (it's a joke man)

This car gets better everytime I see it man. Even the frame works is great. I was going to ask what size the tank was, but noticed you said 13 gal, should be big enough for what you need to do man. Out-freakin-standing. That's really all I can say man. I can't wait to see this car finished man. I have been inspired to the point that I may take some styling cues from it. Hope you don't mind man. I'll post some sketches when I get them drawn.

I've been thinking about the headlights too, I think the plain old roadster lights are the way to go man. I was wondering about maybe some of those newer high powered ones, maybe hide them somewhere, but it really needs something you can see, but you know that better than I do.

Anyway, sorry to ramble, dig the car, keep us posted no progress.
