I am trying to get the correct information for the windshield interchange on my 60 invicta convertible. Auto city cl***ics indicates that a windshield from a 1959/1960 cadillac convertible will fit my buick convertible. I need to verify this since I have a gent who would like to sell me his caddy windshield. I tried to check a Hollander, and it lists Buick, Olds , Pontiac and Chevrolet as interchangeable. But they left out cadillac. It was a newer publication, so I don't know if it's just a mistake or if its accurate. If anyone can help confirm this for me, I'd be very grateful. Thanks.
I believe there is a "59buick.com" website. My buddy has restored a few 59 converts and mention the site.
Ok here it is. Buick 59-60 2&4 dr ht, and conv. (exc Electra"225" Riv Sdn) Chevy 59-60 2&4dr ht and conv. Olds 59-60 Holiday cpe, sdn and conv. Following will fit but not exact match: Cad 59-60 2drht, 4drht and conv series 62.
Thank you very much. What do you think is meant by not being an exact match, but will fit? Should I be concerned if I take the 59 caddy windshield? Is it something cosmetic...
thats a good ?? i have to wonder about that myself. guess it could be tint?you would think it would either fit or it would'nt.not like" it's close if you use big enough hammer it it will work"??
Im kinda in the same boat looking for the same info....but different car. I have a 59 olds 98 tudor hardtop and theres a 59 or 60 cadi 4 door hardtop at the junkyard and im wondering if it will fit? seems like the info about say it should fit but is kinda different. I also just picked up a 59 buick convertable and my buddy had a 59 chevy hardtop windshield and it fits. The winshields are "glue in" so no need to hammer them into place if they "kinda fit". I may go and make a template of my windshield adn then lay it over the one at the junkyard to see if they have the same footprint. JEFF
