Agreed..... The chart link does say that the Camaro is wider than the MONTE clip..... Must be a difference someplace.... Worse comes to worse... For the price I paid if need be it will get sectioned as needed........ I dont expect to get the Monte for at least a month.... Everything here is Snowed in.... As soon as I get it the Monte gets stripped for doner parts.... Hopefully this year will be the summer we look to move south and warmer climate....... Rich............
I put an S-10 clip in my shoebox. I z'ed it and it fit like a glove. I used an S-10 Manual Steering Box. The width is just a little narrow, but I actually like the look better than a Monte Carlo or cutl*** front end where the tires are rubbing the fenderwell. It is a prettyt tight fit engine wise, if you are using center dump, ram horn manifolds. I had to modify the manifolds to make them work. I would definately recommend the swap to anyone who can't stand stock shoebox suspension
I know it's not a shoebox, but a 87 Monte Carlo fit perfectly under my 54 Ford. Readily available parts. Disc brakes and front steer.
I have been driving around my 49 with a 76 camaro clip for 18 years. IT ****S! Way, way way too wide unless you do a shload of fabrication. and why would you do that when the S10 is so practical. I have a fresh S10 sitting in the driveway waiting for the blade. I picked it up for 400 bucks, after I part it, and s**** the rest I will be into the clip 100 bucks. No Brainer!
