Anyone ever done a modified air cleaner/ duct set up like this?

It looks like the snorkels would need to be modified, but the look is well worth it considering the only other option i have seen are the flashy Spectre offerings.

I can't think of anything easier: just weld in round pipe on each side of your stock air cleaner top, one of which goes where the factory inlet was, and you're done.

Where would the round pipe be sourced? Would not want to go to heavy.

The 1982 Mustang air cleaner for the 302 HO had a dual air intake....

a couple guys ran them to the spoiler and connected them with a furnace vent... It was like it was made for this....

The big difference came over 70 mph when it was really pickin up air

Like the ones Hotrod magazine used to do with dryer duct hose? Yes. Worked great.

Nothing like this available from the vintage super stock / AFX web sites? You might consider oval exhaust tubing. Some of that could be handy if your air cleaner isn't tall enough for large diameter hose / tube. Or step on some thin wall round tubing and make your own oval inlets. Gary

I put a Spectre on my Chevy. I didn't want chrome or polished so I ordered it without and painted it a satin black.

    That looks great!
I am thinking a similar approach, but with the factory air cleaner shell. The snorkels would have to reworked.
