so i just finished installing bags on my 58 biscayne, no leaks and no kinks but the front end takes for ever to raise back up to driving level. the rear jumps up and down but the front takes like 2-3 minutes. this is the kit i got http://www.bcfab.com/Complete-FBSS-...-Chevrolet-Impala--Electric-System_p_462.html 5g tank 2- 380 compressors and 3/8 lines and valves. any ideals on how to fix this or what i can do to make it quicker?????

Where are the valves mounted and do you have any pics of the front setup in the car? What psi are you running? Have you tried anything yet to resolve it.

It also depends on what kind of bags you have in the front. The rear has a lot less weight then the front. 3/8 is always medium speed

the valves are mounted on the tank in the trunk with a 165on 200 off pressure switch. the bags are airlift dominators.do you think adding a little 3g tank for back up would fix it???

What pressure is the ride height in your car? The reason im asking is if its a high pressure the bags mihht be mounted to far in on the A arm. The front of my 54 takes 35psi to start to lift and 75psi is my ride height it has a V8 under the hood and my valves are mounted in the trunk aswell.just giving you some numbers to compare to. Any pics of the front?

  6. What size are the bags, sounds like you may need a large bag on the front.

the 58's are stock coils on all 4 corners so the bags just replace the coils in front in the stock spring pocket. i dont have pics or a pressure gauge yet. do i need a gauge? or is just nice to have.

how can i tell the size of the bags??
    thanks for helping too:)

  8. I tried looking on your link at the kit. I saw no bag size. are 2 of the bags you install larger in size than the others?

The kit said that it is a 7 inch travel bags but were 2 bigger in diameter.I just use a gauge so I know where my height is roughly (set pressure get out of the car to see the height) just something I prefer ive had air ride for 15 years and done that in all my cars. Also let's you see if there are even side to side front and rear on an independent corner set up. Some of the setups ive seen take 150psi just to lift the front and are slow because of various reasons eg. Large front bags, small line, poor bag placement. Dont know if any of this is helping but I hope it gives you some ideas

well it seems that the fittings i had to install once in the trunk didnt quit get snugged up 3 of the four looked like bubble bath when i hit em with soapy water.

any know how long it should take 2 vaair 380's to fill a 5g tank to 200 psi??
those little comp sure get hot quick

0-200 should take 4-5 minutes. Your front bags may still be too small. What is the outside diameter of them? Travel is not an indicator of capacity. For a car of the weight of yours, you should have a 7" diameter bag, for a comfortable ride. The larger the bag, the less pressure it takes to hold up the same weight, and the faster the rise.

Try getting a bigger bag. Try re7's made by slam specialties. I dont know what size you have but it will lift easier and be a muuuucch better ride. I won't ride so stiff cause it won't take as much psi to lift. Also another tank couldn't hurt. Just be more air to play with. If your worried about fill times look into getting a EDC or engine driving compressor

Ok i got it figured out now every thing works like it should...almost i still have a small leak to find. in 48 hours the front will drop about 4 inches back stays the same, i assume because theres no weight in the back compared to the front. but the bags now go up and down just fine... when the battery isnt dead from playing with it while not running. any good tricks to find air leaks??

Spray soapy water on every joint. Watch for bubbles, over time.

Yeah soapy water worked for me and make sure your lines are cut straight before slipping into fittings, found out the hard way.
