Desoto Hubcap Identification please help.

Hey Fellas

Little help if you could. I have a full set of these Desoto caps and I am
a bit confused on what model year they would have come off. At First
I thought they would be off 1946-1948 Desoto's. They Measure 10" from outside lip to lip and inside measures 7 1/4" Thanks in Advance for the help.

Yep what I thought. Found some pictures of 1941-1942 models but no close ups of script. Anyone with a ultra rare 1942 Desoto please chime in.

 

Here's a closeup of a cap on a 47 DESoto in a forsale ad I found.........so I would say
yours is earlier....maybe the 42.

 

That is a gas cap.

 

I sold a '42 DeSoto a couple of years ago. It had two NOS caps exactly like yours with it. One was bright red like yours and the other was burgundy paint but same hubcap. If they fit other years I don't know but the old originals on that '42 were the bright red type.

 

Thanks for the help and info guys. Wow I wish I had the 42 Desoto to go with the caps...hideaway headlights (drool) way before its time.
