Hey guys, ill start by saying that im new here and im excited to see if i can get some help or tips to building my 1946 Gmc truck!

My girlfriend and i picked up our 1946 gmc 1/2 ton truck a couple months ago, it was registered in the 70's and had a 350 sbc with a turbo 350 trans. We bought it beforebthe guy started the resto work.

My first question is: i want to keep the stock front leaf spring suspension, is there a way to doba disc brake setup cheap without having to buy special hubs and such? Maybe there are car hubs that will work with my stock spindles? Any help is appreciated!

Saw a post the other day about a company called scarebird. They may have something. Worth a look anyway! Good luck with the truck

    Greetings,
I know speedway has a kit for this for 249.00 including all parts , rotors bearings calipers brackets etc, and you can still use your stock steering arms , and spindles, don't confuse it with some of their other kits( for modified 53 car spindles for their straight axle kits) it is available, and what I'll be using on my Henry J (37/8 chev st axle,15 over king pins, and 49 truck spindles, hope this helps, the price is decent, and if your patient they offer free/cheap shipping a few times each year, ..Jim

I put a Speedway kit in my '46 Chevy 1/2T and was well pleased with it.
