Friction Shocks Do They Work Good?

Just wondering if these work well? I've got a traditional 30 Model A, stock 4banger. I'm not setting any land speed records. However, I've seen some pretty heavy duty A's running friction shocks.

    Thoughts?

Friction shocks work O K. I run them on all four corners of my lakes modified because they fit the era of the car. Photos in my albums.
    Good Luck

They work well to stablize the springs (prevent bounce) but not a smooth ride like hydraulics.

Henry Ford specified Houdaille shocks which were expensive for a low price car, to make up for the shortcomings of the transverse leaf suspension. If you don't want to use tubular shocks, I don't think you will do any better than the stock Houdaille.
