Hey there, Fourth time poster, first time FNG...or something like that. I've read and trolled the HAMB and Jalopy Journal for some years now. It's part of the morning routine, right along with my coffee. Anytime I've had a question about something traditional, hot rod, custom, lakes style, g***er or just awesome, I come here first. My tool boxes in the garage wear some HAMB stickers along with vintage speed decals on the top box from decades ago that my father-in-law gave me. I've made some posts about a '64 Rivi that I am in lust with (louvered hood and Offenhauser bits), but other than that I've been content (even excited) just to read posts, look at pics and dream. My preference has always been old-school ever since I found out as a teen that the guy who lived behind my parents was building a '39 Merc. Then in college I spent time with a guy who taught me about old school building, gas torch, etc who kept a stable of orphans and rented out cars for use in the movies and was in the process of building a Lincoln V-12 Deuce and an old school Indy car with a Buick straight 8, when he p***ed. Probably the biggest thing for me is listening to and learning from those who have been there and done this, that and the other. As a preacher I know that I've got two ears and one mouth for a really good reason. I'm really excited to be here.
Thanks for the welcome CT. We're pretty close to one another and yes I think FNG is old Army slang for F...ing New Guy. Makes me chuckle.
