I've always been told it was a dealer accessory wheel available on model t fords... Of course, I could be wrong as hell.

Thats what Floorboardinit said too. Could be correct. Its a HELL of a nice looking wheel whatever it is. Got a funny feeling I could spend the rest of my life looking, and never see another one.

It could be an accessory T-era wheel if the rim is wood and it looks like it might be.
Many accessory wheels had aluminum spokes and a steel insert cast into the hub section. There is definitely a small cover in the center which probably covers the nut.
A beautiful piece. I ***ume the car is gone or lost for now.

Sorry guy's I haven't been on that much lately..... The Wheel according to Frank,.. Was custom built by him using a mixture of parts from a Model T,.... and 1934 Pontiac (same as the steering box) Frank worked his magic like he did in all aspects of this car.

This is from Frank's personal pictures.... I'll look to see if I have any close ups....

Ok, Maybe the 3 spoke spider is Pontiac, and the rim is Model T Ford. The wheel rim in the color photo of the Mack interior looks like a T, the above photo of the Pontiac looks to have finger bumps/grooves. Bob

Forget what I said about it being a T rim on a Pontiac spider, that is one great looking wheel, hope we find out what it really is. Bob

Thanks Harms way. Looks like he made the spokes, pontiac center and a T rim. At last, we get to the bottom of it.

It's a swing,.... and a miss !..... Sorry I can see it's not the same... I actually had my hands on that wheel a number of times..... I'll ask some of my fellow club members about the details about it.... But Frank was really funny about not using ANYTHING commercially available on his car.

Well, at least I went down swinging...:D Just wondering out loud, did he cut the spokes out of a big chunk of aluminum, or cast the center section?

This may be blasphemous but I'd love to see a spot on reproduction of this wheel from somebody like Don Orosco...even though it might take from how special the original is. JohnnyA

  19. I bought one of these on Ebay, looks to be Jeep and Crosley.
