Ok here im patching the inner fender well. In case you run into this type of problem here is how i handle it Thought id share The area that need patch Construction paper over area and take a blunt object like handle of a pliers and rub against paper so the metal leaves an imprint Now transfer template to metal Instant patch Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Transfer over with extra added for a bend A little more fine tuning and weld in place Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
I just took two days to read every word in this thread.. AMAZING work!! Im ashamed of myself for bitchin about my little rust issues.. You're a true inspiration my friend!! I will be hanging around here till you're done with that beauty.
Thanks i hope my story inspires others but i didn't do it alone i have had allot of help from here. I don't know if i would have got this far without the hamb. No one knows this till now but the great and wonderful Ryan helped me out in a way and i think he should be held up in the air. I was feeling really really depressed with so much going on i just wanted to end it all. I know i know i dont know what i was thinking. Ryan got a hint of this from a post i had made asking to delete my account ect.... and all the way from texas he called the police to come check on me. It was a wake up call for me. I can honestly say it was the first time in a long time someone did something for me, showed concern for me, made me feel like i wasn't worthless. I don't know how else to explain it. It took a little time to kick back into gear but im running faster and faster everyday. Well its all passed me now and till this day cant explain why i went thru that. Thanks again Ryan. This pass weekend i only worked on the 47 for 20 mins. Spent the rest of the weekend helping friends with electrical problems. This weekend its ON for the 47 i have a check list im working off of. See u soon Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Joel, your work is inspiring to those of us who don't have the big bucks or the best set ups of anything - what you do have is guts, ambition, drive, and a whole bunch of friends that want to see you kick that 47's @$$... whatever else comes up man just remember - NEVER GIVE UP. No one walks alone - rg
Still loving this build man...remember these cars can be therapy! Plus I know how much your kids mean to you! I dont know if you noticed but I'm trying to restore my dash and radio right now. I still tell people all the time about how some dude I never met mailed me this radio for free with no questions asked! Most people don't believe me but I can promise you as long as that cars in my family that radio will stay in it! Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
What a testimony brother!! I have been surfing around the hamb for years and found LOTS of help not even being a member.. Now that I am one the help i get is Invalueable.. The folks here are true friends without a doubt! It is remarkable the way old metal bring folks together, that's actually what I love so much about it! A little off topic, I have a newer diesel and am on a few forums, and quite frankly a lot of those guys are ASSHOLES when you ask a question or have a project. You're build alone is inspiration but now knowing you're story brings you ino a whole other light and it's remarkable! Alright I'll quit preaching now and watch my phone like an addict waiting on more pics of you're car lol!!
I for one am very glad to hear you are doing good Joel! Having battled depression my whole life I know it can be rough at times but lifes not easy...I find the car stuff to be great therapy takes my mind off the day to day bs I can always find something to do that will make me feel better, keep at it!
Joel, just wanted to let you know that I've followed your thread from the very beginning. You've been a great inspiration to me. Thank you.

Ok after work today i bolted most of the spare nose together. Aligned the hood and marked where i have to drill holes. The undersides are done so after i ripp it off and do what i need to do i will bolt it on for the last time. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Ok Joel , I take it the hood will raise as normal or not ? That little grill guard I really like on that year Dodge. I have seen in other pics ,of other Dodges. It looks like it belongs there ,
Yes hood opens perfect The grill guard i found on a parts car 10 yrs ago i have been saving it i think it will look great when i chrome it. It can be copied and bent up at a muffler place Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Ok before i go out for breakfast with the family im popping the old stud n nut that hold the fenders on and replacing the ones on my car that the studs are rusted in place Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Lower front fender Replacing the the fender studs On drivers side i was able to thread them from behind Pass side i cant tread them in so easy so i bolted them on nice and tight. Im going to cut the heads off then back out the nut instant fender stud Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Around 8pm i got an itch so i dug out these parts from my parts bin and went to town. They go on each side of the radiator to help guide the air to the radiator like a fan shroud but infront. So i blasted them and hit wuth self etching primer. I will coat them in undercoating when i get home Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
