Just wondering what the best radiator would be to go in a model A to keep a V8 cool enough. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Check out U.S. Radiators Desert Coolers. They are a triple p*** design you can get in either aluminum or copper/br***.
Traditional cars use traditional radiators,,use copper & br***. A lot of company's offer them,,I have 3 cars with Walkers. HRP
Depends what you want to spend, how nostalgic you want it to look, and how you intend on using your car. Me-I just went and got an inexpensive Mustang re-pop for my slightly cammed 350, and It's never overheated at all.
I just ordered mine from Br***works. Top of the line, custom made, great service, and a beautiful product. Make sure you plan ahead though, They are about a month out!
I should be receiving mine from Br***works in the next week or so. I've heard a few not so good stories about Walkers Radiators in Model As.
A mid sixties mustang or small body Ford w/a 260-289-302 should fit, it fills the grill of the 30-31 closely. You'll want to put some 1/2 inch expanded steel grate in front to hide the top tank base, otherwise fine. See avatar on left!
in my '31 coupe i installed a '38 flathead, and got a aluminum rad. from superior rad. 2 years ago and no problems. and only $350 to my door. fits like it belongs there.a dup. of model a rad. with the flathead inlets and outlets.
Yeah i'm with you i have Had a few walkers....no aluminum for me.trust me i've been dong this stuff 45 years Walkers are the one.Unless you have relation in the radiator repair business heh heh
Depends I suppose on the V-8 in the model A, as well as how you plan on forcing air through the radiator in question. For your average mostly stock small block an early mustang radiator works real well. For an A V8 build than even the stock model A radiator with the extra ******s will work well enough. The question is a little vague to get a definative answer.
my 30 coupe, with a yblock, used stock model a top and bottom tank and had it recorded, moved the inlet and outlets, has worked great for years
