I'm looking at a set of aluminum roller rockers for my sbc. i got the motor not knowing what lift the cam is, there were stock looking rockers on it. does anyone know what the slot width is on the long slot r/arms? the ones i'm looking at from summit are 0.634 i don't know if that is the long slot. i broke a valve stud during break-in.
slot length is what you are looking for and aftermarket roller rocker arms should have enough if push rod length sets the geometry properly. you just need to make sure they don't hit the end of the slot as the valve opens and closes, also the spring retainers don't hit the valve guides or the springs run out of travel.
