This was a basket case when I got it so don't know what goes where. The '34 Cab was on a 1 1/2 ton ch***is and I believe the metal/rubber mounts in the pic were under the cab front mount. Now it's sittin on a '34 P***. frame and ordered a cab mounting kit expecting to have all the mounts but only got 6 wood mounts, none of which go to the lower firewall foot mount. Anyone have a pic of what's what & where? Thanks!
I just checked my 34pu and the foot is on the frame - welting under the cab but attachment foot not up like your pic.
No wood came with wood kit from Mac's for the firewall foot. As you can see the mount is a good inch above the frame rail, not a flush fit. Yes I could make a Oak wood mount BUT since it didn't come in the kit that's a red flag to me..........
mounts to the frame, from the looks of it that forward hole with welt--not sure why it's that high off the frame right now I'm guessing somethings not right with the wood kit or it's installation
The wood blocks go inside the body channels. The wood prevents the channels from crushing when the body mounting bolts are tightened. It appears that you have the wood in the wrong place causing the body to be too high. Your problem is not with the firewall foot but it is how you mounted the wood under the cab. The front foot should bolt directly to the top of the frame. No wood, no spacers. This is a 32 but it still uses the same wood blocks. It can be confusing. The wood blocks are in place and the front foot bolts directly to the frame. The long wood blocks go parallel to the frame up front by the doors. The short blocks go in the back under the seat perpendicular to the frame. The wood blocks have dados in them to clear the rivet heads on a stock Henry frame that would prevent the blocks from lying flat. Your problem is with your mounting of the wood kit.
It just bolts right to the frame, I just put some welting between it and the frame, sent me a PM if you want to go out and take some PIC's for you. Later
I have the wood installed like this photo taken off a HAMB thread (search worked!) Get the feeling the wood kit will have to be whittled on so that it will bed into the sub rail, slicing & dicing as we speak.
