Need Help with 1934 Ford 5 Window

I am working in the trunk area with the placement of the inner panels. There is a inner panel sold by several parts vendors that I do not have and worse yet, I do not know where it fits. I am going to try and attach a picture of the panel that I am confused about. Thanks for your help. A picture to me is worth 10,000 words.

 

You have the pic the right way up. It goes inside the panel below the trunk. Bolts (rivets?) down to the top of the floor.

That part is left out of a lot of hot rod builds. I'd think it would add strength and should be installed.

 

It would help to see some pictures of the trunk area of your coupe - but presuming it is all stock and you have the original floor, then this panel
bolts to each side at the bottom of the quarter panel. You will see three
holes on the inside portion of the quarter panel. The panel that fits below the trunk lid - with the pictured panel inside it - will bolt to the quarter panels.
If you can take some pictures and post them that would be great. Besides, we would like to see you car anyways!

 

Here is a pic of my coupe where you can see the panel below the trunk lid. The piece you have pictured fits inside that panel.

 

Thanks Alchemy and SS 34 Coupe. Your answers are great and confirm my thoughts. I was concerned about the panel below the trunk lid and the floor pan holding the rear of the body together. I am in the process of replacing the two rear pieces of the floor pan. I am trying to keep the body the way Henry designed and built it.

 

I purchased the panel from Howell's and well pleased with the product and service.
Now for the dumb question. How does the rain gutter dispose of the water ? It appears that the water will be dumped into the trunk.....

 

If it is rumble seat water goes in the trunk and drains out holes in floor without rumble it still does this but lots sits in the trough at the back do yourself a favor and make some drain tubes.

maybe this shot will help. The water collects on the floor, and drains out thru the hole. The dam that runs across the floor is there to direct the flow..
