My local NAPA store is great. The guys (and lady) in there know there stuff and will bend over backwards to help you. The lady at the counter will amaze you at how smart she is with auto parts.
The store's owner's dad was a huge hot rodder back in the day. He is still alive (close to 80) and works at his sons NAPA store. I have been over to his house many times and am amazed at the stuff he still has.
There is an Auto Zone less than 1/8th of a mile from it and they are getting ready to build a damned Advance Auto right beside the NAPA store....I seriously hope the NAPA can hold its own. I know it will on my behalf.

    32Spitfire - I lived in Baltic from '75 until '84 - sent you a pm.

My experience with my local NAPA is the same: best parts house in the valley and can get almost anything I need for my 48 - 52 early F series trucks.

NAPAOnline has an excellent online cross reference search. It and Advance websites can check if a store has the part in stock, or must be ordered.
It took a while for The fairly knowledgeable young man at Advance to find the Holley accel pump diaphragm that the confuser said they had. It was in the small dusty box of Holley spare parts. He was hung up on it not being a carb kit.

The NAPA I go to (Canoga Park, CA) is awesome. They've helped me get so many parts for my truck. Always go above and beyond. Now I get all my parts there for all my cars.

I only hit up Autozone or O'Reily for fluids and other "consumables".

all you gotta do is count the percentages of brands in the parking lot at any NASCAR event
