Wow, what is that ornament worth?

Good points.....museum should have had cameras.

Haven't been there since I was a kid but it used to be a casual low investment type of place. They have moved and updated in recent years but ***ume they are still working on a limited budget. I guess even more so now......

Was there once, saw a few cameras and pretty limited entry, but if someone wants something they will get it.

coming from someone who runs a small museum, you'd be surpised how many don't have them and how expensive the systems can get, even for a pretty basic set-up (my family sells security).

    that said, it ****s.

all the more reason to not winge bout the price of admission when you visit museums.

Hmm ... hood ornament stolen off of the car? That's gonna take some basic tools, at least and some under-the-hood time. I noticed on their website that they have new security measures; no bags of any kind allowed (includes diaper bags and I'd ***ume that someone with medical issues would not be welcomed). My su****ious nature here: any new staff members?

The bad news is that there was a friggin thief that got away. The good news is that the ornament pictured in the story is NOT a 1932 Plymouth cap. That was made up from two cheap non-original pieces. The flying lady shown above is aftermarket. Here (below) is what the original cap should look like.....I have had a couple. I emailed them and let them know that there are a couple of them on Ebay...http://www.ebay.com/itm/1931-1932-P...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd0315010&vxp=mtr

I've always wanted a chrome nekkid lady.

It seems wrong for the for-profit museum to beg for people to give them money to buy another

Its not a hood ornament. Its a radiator cap and twists off in a second. no tools needed

thanks for that clarification. I thought it looked more like the re-popped 32 caddy ornaments that came from whitney and other sources, but I wasn't sure.

That "ornament" is worth about $25.00. The real 1932 Plymouth caps will go for about $200.00-$300.00.

    ****s for that museum.

My uncle's 32 plymouth is at my house - engine rebuild going on.

He has about 10 grills and radiator caps (or hood ornaments as some are calling them). They are pretty cool

Maybe the museum got tired of all the complaints about it being wrong and took it themselves and now want the general public to buy them the right one and using theft as an excuse to get publicity and donations.

I'm sorry but things don't add up right here for me

Nope, not 32 PB! Got word of this from R.A.Wrench then seen it in the paper. Know a tad about the PB.
