I read all the thread that have to do with this and am still uncertain where these clips are located and or wether they are needed.

I bought the new kit from Sacremento Vintage Ford, which appears to be very nice. And the clip kit.

I am fully aware of the bumbs on the body that the trim goes over, and am aware of the threaded studs going thru the body.

I am dumb founded on the need or use of these clips though. I don't think they were on the Tudor originally and I have two 30 Coupes in front of me and they don't have them.

Where the hell do they go, and are they really necessary?

I think they are for the EARLY 1930 cowl band, I've only had one of them in the 50+ years I've been into A's. the tank groove it totally different than the common later '30 top. Bob

    Thanks for responding.
I put it on without them and it fit fairly good.
Its tight thru the top most of the way and on the sides.

Small gapage on top right before it rolls to the sides.

I put a fair amount of pressure on the nuts but felt I needed to stop before messing something up.

Probably find that you need them. They go under one of the screws at the tank/cowl seam and hold the band from slipping forward.

Probably fit as well as any Model A ever out the factory door. Remember, these were the bottom of the transporation heirarchy. Low buck transpaortation does not equal perfect body panel fit or gaps, often it doesn't even mean good. Reliable yes.

We wrestled and cussed when we were trying to get the cowl band on my Son's 30 rpu then we remembered some little clips that came with it. Once we figured out how they went it made sense and kept the band from sliding forward off of the little nubs that hold it in place. We were almost ready to order a new cowl band because we figured this one was deformed, but the clips made it all come together.

It doesn't seem like it will slide down off.

But Don's picture tells it all.

    Thanks guys

The clips you are talking about are found on only 1930 Jan./Fed. "BRIGGS" Fordor Sedans.Which would be a STANDARD Model .I just sold a EARLY 1930 Briggs Blind back [built in Nov.1929] and they were not on it. Its now on Ebay forsale. not by me !by New owner....i needed the cash fast so the Fordor had to go to buy a 3 window 1935 Chevy coupe... Second owner and solid ...original ... working on it now for its been sitting since 1988.
