Hello Everybody! New member from Southern Maine. I've done the "read me 1st" so here is a little about me/us. I come from Southern Maine as a farm kid from a very small farm. Been working on all things mechanical since I could hold a wrench. Back in the mid 90's through 2001 I owned an E**on Station with 3 bay repair shop. 50/50 ownership with my dad who is now 70 and is the "we" part of this. We also had a side business called Extreme Speed and Offroad. It was 90% offroad and mostly installation with very little parts. Anyway after almost 20yrs of the "jeep thing" my interests are changing. Still like them but want to build something different. While growing up we used an old model B John Deere tractor and a "homemade tractor" my dad bought back in the '60's. We got out of farming back in the 80's and the homemade tractor was parked. Now that my dad has retired as a heavy equipment mechanic from a new Volvo Dealership we are considering doing a new father/son/grandson project. Reseaching the data tag shows the homemade tractor to be a 1933 chevy 1.5 ton dual wheel long wheel base truck. Luckily my dad removed and saved the front fenders, grill, running boards and engine cover back in the 60's. The cab is in okay considering farm use although it is missing the rear back 2 panels. The rear was cut off and a very old, primative tow truckish set up was made for lifting e****pent up so he could work on it in the fields. Anyway the long term plan is to build a 2x4 box frame and replace the wood frame with box steel. Clean up and repair the bodywork and turn it into a nice low budget hot rod/rat rod. Probably put in Vortec 350 or lsx type engine with auto although considering pulling the old 348 big block tripower from our dual big block FWD snowblower. So that's my story. I don't tend to post up a whole lot unless I have something valuable to add or ask. Thanks, Scott Brown
