I don't remember my 16th birthday as in the party or the things I did that day but I remember that feeling of total freedom and the ability to get in my own car and go somewhere. What a feeling. I also remember bugging my Mom: "Do we need milk? Eggs? Anything?" I just wanted to drive! As we get older it's just something we do on a daily basis and it loses that special feeling. Enjoy that feeling it's a fun one.

I remember running down to the mailbox every day, waiting for my driver's license to show up. It was like torture but I was on cloud nine when it finally did come. Didn't take me very long to lose it a few times for "traffic infractions" though.

Enjoy your birthday and your youth. You have no idea how fast you go from 16 to 60...........it happens in the blink of an eye.

    Happy Birthday.:D

I dont remember my birthday but do remember being 16. First job making $4 something an hour, could fill the gas tank in my old truck for $10 and cruise through town as many times as I liked.

    flamin'ace,

I will make a deal with you. I will fix your truck in exchange for your age.
I will even throw in all my cars and trucks!

You will be getting the better deal as you will receive 57 more years of experience and knowlege. If you decline this offer, at least take this advice.

The best gift that you can receive today is confidence. If you give this to yourself, you can do anything, without it, you will do nothing.

The greatest thing in life is doing what others say is impossible.

You bet I remember turning 16, drove dad's 58 Dodge four door to take my drivers test a few days later. No drivers education, just dad's tutelage both on the road and in the farm fields, by the time I had gotten my license I had rolled his early 55 Chevrolet pickup due to my own stupidness:) That was over 50 years ago and one of the few things I remember about that period of my life.
    Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday!!!

At 16 (1975) I was working in fast food and had a paper route. A schwinn was my transportation. I manage to save enough to buy a car when I was 17. A neighbor took pity on me and sold me this EL Camino for $600. My parents were not happy.

    Happy birthday, drive safe.....

Yep, I remember mine. Had my car for a month or so before but could only drive it with a parent. The day I turned sixteen, a buddy and I changed the oil, plugs and filters, went to the car wash and scrubbed it up and set out for our first mall cruise.
Ran into the back of some old people about 3 minutes after pulling out of the car wash that were stopped at a yield sign, ruined the front end of my car and still get made fun of today 19yrs later.

    IT WASNT MY FAULT DAMMMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 16th birthday was 46 years ago, and I sure do remember it. Make the most of each day, the years fly by in the blink of an eye.
