Event Coverage swap meet & drags, Mt. Vernon OH, May 12,2013

This is our fourth annual spring drags. !/8 mile grudge racing all day(no eliminations,make as many passes as you like). 10:00 am - 3 pm. Held at Pacemaker Raceway Park on rt. 3/36 at the Mt. Vernon city limits.

There will be more information and pictures coming up, but plan on attending....we have a great time.

This dragstrip is awesome, unchanged since the early '60's. This event is very relaxed...no tech. inspection or anything like that. Run whatever you want, as many times as you want.

how's the swap meet... is it mostly racing stuff???

 

It's mostly street car stuff. Some old, some later model .

 

bump- it's tomorrow. Hope there's a good turnout despite mother's day. I intend to be there with a big load of stuff for the swap, unless something stands in my way.

We had a great time today. It was chilly this morning, but ended up a decent,dry day. Decent turnout....and I got to go for a wheels up pass in Ron Doran's '41 Willys. That was the high point of my week, until I saw the look on my kid's face when I got out of the car and handed him the firesuit and helmet. He's still got a big smile on his face 9 hours later.
