4rod, Great build thread so far! Looks like you found a great shoebox to being with. I have lots of shoebox parts including the grille parts you need. I personally own two 50 tudor sedans, a 49 tudor sedan, & a 49 4-door sedan. I also have access to other shoebox Fords for parts. PM me if you need parts & I'll see what I can come up with for you. Keep the updates coming!
Yes, it seems high however it does have a high rise manifold...the po's mounting bolcks need to be addressed Never used Jamco...but a good link for springs http://www.amazon.com/Moog-CC850-Va...=UTF8&qid=1312156599&sr=8-5&tag=vglnk-c299-20
Great looking car Im subscribed If this helps .......I have 3 inch lowering springs and 4 inch rear blocks in mine plus drop spindles I'll be bagging mine in the next week or 2. The springs are $167 jamco 3 inch lowering. Blocks are butch's cool stuff 4 inch lowering blocks $85. If interested ill probably be getting rid of them on here soon for $200 maybe $175 plus shipping.
Cool when your ready to post to sell I'll keep an I out, I just picked up 3 inch blocks yesterday. but the front springs I'd be interested in...going to take the body off today...
alright, dug into it more today, even threw on some paint...here you go The dash...Blue metallic...future of the exterior
Okey back at it...after Thursdays accident with the car dropping on me and pinning my arm, I feel a bit better and got some things buttoned up... Installed 3 inch lowering blocks and removed several leafs out of the pack...after that about 4 inches... rear is right where I want it...Now for the front going the Aerostar route I will admit, I do like the nose in the air...But I see what the areostar drop looks like
I used the same blocks and had to flip my lower plate and cut the u bolts off to clear the scrub line.
yeap I cut the bolts too...Way to long...i'm real pleased though...can t wait to level out the front...But I want a little rack to the rear...just not looking up at the sky
I used aerostar up frt and i'm pleased. Just a little nose high right now with some weight still to come.
I like the stance, is that an off white color in the engine bay? I am going with wimpelton white on the fire wall, then black inner fenders and rad support...then metallic blue for heater housing...the body color will be metallic blue
well, snowing today, bummed I can't do much without a shop, neat thing is can I spend time reading other posts...you guys are an encouragement to my build...Thanks
Yeah, was cutting and welding today...Funny as the snow was blowin, I didn't have to cool down the metal...
not to much done recently, I did get the dash assembled...Waiting for the wire harness to wire it up before it goes back in...
Well got the puller today so what the the heck I pulled the engine... I'm really unsure boute the PO's backyard engine mounts, need some help guys... Any advice on how i should approach this...I can fab new ones...will be the first time though...
I would definitely cut those haggard looking things off and start over. You can make some clean mounts using tabs off of the frame and a piece of tube with a bushing. Here is a link to something that speedway sells that is a good example: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Ford-Weld-In-Motor-Mounts,1376.html
Cradle mount would be pretty simple. Speedway and everyone else sells them. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
