So I'm finally rounding the bend on the 1st part of the first part of the test fit /set up of the ch***is.
So I'm trying to get an idea how far back, [to the center of the fr. cross member?] to mount the vega steering box so I can get the steering set up.
Also like to get a location for motor mounts and suggestions on type of mounts.
Would be great if anyone had mesurements on those before I test fit the cab and motor. then I can blow it all apart after I check and adjust the stance/profile, weld, prep and paint the ch***is, and move onto the cab.

Have the ladder bars and mounts tacked in, raised rear cross member welded up to speedway's spring perch with lowered Possie's transverse leaf in, '68 Bronco 9" centered up with traction bar and leaf mounts tacked in, frame repaired, rails straight, extra [I hope] holes welded, crossmember straight, boxing plates cut and tacked, fuel and new brake lines done and secured hidden in the frame and tested, wire harness hidden in frame, master and pedal in, got a nice front axle and bones [ Thanks Greg for the sweet deal! ], bones split, front crossmember fixed and raised , Possie fr. spring in, spindles & pins in, front disk kit in.

Ch***is Engineering sells a plate that goes where the stock steering box was to adapt a Chevrolet steering box. They also sell motor mounts,

if you are just mocking things up at this point, one of the holes in the original bracket lines up with the Vega mounting hole. That said, a couple of comments:
    1) for a heavier vehicle (35 and up basically) the full sized Saginaw is a better bet. it is available in both manual and power (605 series) versions. later montecarlo, etc use a compact version
    2) there is an adapter bracket that bolts to the original bracket AND there is a replacement box mount. both available from the various rod vendors. the replacement bracket gives a little more clearance for headers.

    HTH YMMV

Ch***is engineering! No wonder I couldn't find it.I kept trying to remember their name. I kept looking at Chris Alston' s " ch***is works" , banging my head trying to figure out why I couldn't find them! Thanks!

    I'll get it together!

Pretty sure Speedway sells a version of that box mount too.
