    Why build a '48 Willys? Why not. When I got into this stuff in the early '60s there was a local guy running a Willys station wagon gasser at the drags, not sure what year but the same body style as your truck. Had a big Olds V8 with a hydro, ran like hell and won its share. Wasn't what everybody expected when they heard Willys but got a lot of crowd approval. Guess that makes it kind of traditional too, huh?

    I've thought about building one, but would have to take the dome out of the roof to make it look right . It'll be cool, go for it.
    The free spiritedness ( is that a word?), of hairy legged girls has always been appealing to me. I don't know about the hairy armpits though.

    BTW, i think El Caballo is right, the wheel needs a large "army of the reich" helmet spike for a horn button, and a skull mounted on the column drop to house a tac to really have that Rat feel :eek: :p

    Hey Tinkertoy! I would love to make the greasy bash. However with my staples not even out yet,therapy,meds,etc. After the knee replacement I don't think I'm going anywhere. I am trying to be well enough for the Halloween bash in ALA. Oct 31. And yeah,man we'll race alright:D You guys have fun. later... Sparkomatic:p

    I had a 48 willys for a while I sold my pinto (351w) and bought it off my dad who traded a stock nice 48 chev sedan for it.......anyway, it's in Tenn. now and has changed hands at least a couple times...

    it may look different. here's a picture :cool:

    Oh yeah, I love hippy chicks too :rolleyes: :D
