What are you guys using to protect the paint on your car from heat from the headers? Seems like lots of guys just use high temp exhaust paint and run them no issues with paint bubbling or damage to the paint job. I am ready to start up my flatt tappet cam 29 ford for the first time just wondering if I should be concerned about header heat Jason
During camshaft break in on a fresh rebuilt engine at 1800 rpm with no air movement im guessing they will get hot just asking the question
I've had that setup on two cars and my Son's have it on two of their own too. Never had a problem and one of my header tubes is about a half inch away from my firewall. Don
My lakes are close and I was concerned during my cam break in last year as well! AND I had fresh coat of paint I didn't want to kill. I made some cut out 45's to bolt on the ends and it diverts the heat perfectly
