What are you guys using to protect the paint on your car from heat from the headers? Seems like lots of guys just use high temp exhaust paint and run them no issues with paint bubbling or damage to the paint job. I am ready to start up my flatt tappet cam 29 ford for the first time just wondering if I should be concerned about header heat

If your lake headers are that hot, that far back, you have other issues to be concerned about.

I've had that setup on two cars and my Son's have it on two of their own too. Never had a problem and one of my header tubes is about a half inch away from my firewall.

You should have put that in your post. The way it reads, it's addressing everyday driving.

My lakes are close and I was concerned during my cam break in last year as well! AND I had fresh coat of paint I didn't want to kill. I made some cut out 45's to bolt on the ends and it diverts the heat perfectly:)
