    Hey all,

I am looking for an american made floor jack. I have recently made the switch to all American tools after the guts of several of my replacement Craftsman tools have shattered right after I got them. I would be even happier if I could find something older.

So, does anyone have any resources other than craigslist and ebay for quality used tools? As well as, Maybe a place to find a quality new floor jack other than the tool trucks?

    Thanks

Here's a good one on your CL. Needs a little work but easily repairable. Walker is top quality. Contact HiBall over on GarageJournal. He'll have the rebuild kit. Probably around $40. For $140 and some elbow grease you'll have a quality jack that'll probably outlast you!

Thanks for all of the info. I checked out garage journal, that is a great resource. The milwaukee and the hein warner both look like nice units, just a skoosh out of my budget though. I will keep an eye out on CL for something older, if I don't hear anything from the guy with the walker.

i just bought a hein werner a few months back and love it !

  11. Pay close attention, only SOME models are made in the states. I bought one 4 years ago and it's great. Have a few Milwaukee jacks at work, they're top notch and haven't changed it years but are around $1500 :(. Best would be to find a nice old jack and rebuild the cylinder.

Does anyone know of a US made floor jack that has a maximum lift of 30 or so inches?

I use a Hein Werner floor jack that will onnly list approximately 18 inches and that leaves it so low that it is hard to move around and makes it difficullt to reach into some places.

Benpak shows a Ranger jack that will lift 31 1/2" which would be a good number. I'm just not sure of quality.

Other option is a lift, Would like a 2 post but floor has relief cuts where I placed pads pior to pouring floor. Lift company says stay away from these cuts as they are designed to crack.

    Thanks for aninput.

The old Weaver truck jacks have a lift in the 30" range. Think Walker also had one.

Rumor has it one of the old American jacks (can't remember name). was bought out and all the spare inventory was s****ped so new jacks could be sold. The old jacks when rebuilt lasted too long.

Craftsman is no longer made in the USA. Thats why I switched also. I do have a set of craftsman tools I bought over 10 years ago that work great before Sears completely sold out. Its a shame.
