Thanks for all the great tech Little Wing! Really neat to see all of Hurst's old offerings. You don't by chance having anything for the Hurst Hydro-Gate, do you? I'll post up scanned pictures of the OL-202 Installation Instructions hopefully tomorrow. Also, sometime in the near future, I'll have to post up the Hurst Engine Conversion Tips Booklet.
I agree about getting this one into the tech archive. THIS is the kind of stuff I joined the HAMB for, not "Is EFI traditional?", of "how do I get metal chips off a magnet?"
would anyone happen to have the length of the rods for the lasalle trans set up? Rods #G 1631 #G 1632 or also part numbers 2019 2020 thanks
I wanted one bad enough to cut and shape a 3/8" stainless disc, laminating it with the cheeks from a Duncan Yo-yo. It was cool...only one honiok didn't like it, ("That's just rankin' Hurst shift knobs!") Then I showed him my Colt "Pistol Grip"...
Little Wing, I know you mentioned that some part #'s may have changed over the years... Do you know what the 'G' prefix on the rods is in relation to? I have two rods that are stamped #K 1631 and #K 1632 The reason I ask is that mine look identical in length (relative to each other, as well as the picture) to the rods in the Cad/LaSalle picture that you posted. Any ideas on why the same part number, but different letter prefix?
The mounting bracket part number in my catolog for the kit CL3854F (cad lasalle converted to for closed drive) is #2021, is it the same as #1687? the #1687 is supose to be in kit # FD-4048. I know when a guy converts a cal lasalle to ford closed drive you use the ford tailhousing, so the bracket would bolt on the same as if you had it on a 40-48 trans, my question is why the 2 part numbers? anyone have pics of rods part number 1962 and 1693? Did some more digging, it says with a syncro loc you use teh 1687, but if you have a mystery shifter then its part number 2021, dunno the deal there, i would think they are the same. ***US
Later side mount version for Pontiac and Olds, i'll be switching to this one instead of the early version that mounts to the cover that I was using.
Hi, I have a Hurst mystery shifter: Us patent number 3172301 M/S 344724 2192 Those are all the numbers on the shifter. I'm looking to put it into my 1965 Ford mustang. She has a 289 with a 3 speed toploader. In the Hurst identification chart it looks like the 336 transmission. My question is: will this shifter fit my Mustang? If so what shift kit do I need? Thanks Chris
bringing back a old thread. I am looking for a CR-202 for a early Hemi. Also looking for a TM-5 Packard transmission mount. if anyone has one squirreled away I would appreciate locating them. I plan on putting a 354 into a 46 chevy with a Packard transmission. I already have the chevy frame mount.
Hello Little Wing, and everyone else. You seem to be very knowledgeable on old Hurst stuff so I thought you might be able to help. I'm looking for some info on some Hurst shifter stuff I picked up in a bundle purchase and looking to sell.. I have a Dual Pattern Syncro Loc shifter, Mastershifter and some mounts and rods. I'm not able to find anything on this Mastershift mount. Part numbers stamped on it are 8229 and the brace is 2326. (see pictures) The guy I got this stuff from was a Fairlane 390 guy so that may help, although the parts might fit other stuff too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I couldn't find a way to PM on this site so I'm just posting to the thread. Thanks, Dan
Some more Hurst candy for the Hurst candy dish. Some from other Forums and other HAMB members past and present, plus a few of my own. I have more but they don't seem to fit this page for some reason? Dustin PS. Sorry if I doubled up on any info or pictures...
