I tell my friends in the midwest that we hibernated during the summer and got the cars and motorcycles out during the winter when I lived in the Valley. It's a hard concept for some to fathom.

Hoping snow melts so I can get it out of garage. I need to take it to get alignment. Cut coil from front springs. 1/2 wasn't enough. Got new WWW on new rims I painted sparkly black. Needs new drive line. Then I need to take it to a guy to weld my front shoulder harnesses for my seatbelts and put in emergency brake. Was hoping to put in E brake myself, but still going to hockey tournaments and dance competitions. If snow melts will have baseball tryouts. Car is about 10th on my list of stuff I can get to.

Birds are tweatin', the grass and the alfalfa fields are greenin' up, and I saw worms on the sidewalk the other day. Still a little soft and sloppy though, and the gravel roads out here are full of huge craters!

I'm without any old cars for now, so not much rush to "get ready" for the season. Sold the last one just before Christmas. Been selling my engines and parts too, and that list is gettin' shorter and the barn and chicken coop are gettin' emptier.

Still have my disassembled 425 Nailhead though. Tryin' to keep from having to sell it too, so at least I'll have that to work on and keep for a future car project. Do some molasses rust removal and protect it this time so it doesn't rust again... Finish smoothing the block and heads, (that'll take a month...lol.) Then start looking at having some machine work done and maybe start getting some new parts for it. A little paint and polish the valve covers to make it pretty, and build a test stand so I can run it when it's done. If I get that far, do a video of it running to show you guys. Vrooom Vrooom.

Happy hot rodding this season, everybody.

Closing on a house Monday, so moving! I want to put in the isky cam in the T and finish an operable tailgate for the bed. Otherwise grabbing everything car related left at my grandparents farm in ND over Memorial Day weekend will start brand new lists! Need to pass the last of my Architectural exams too.

I've got 2 lists going. One for getting the '54 ready for a HAMB Drags road trip, another for getting the '34 3w together. I just bought some chalkboard paint so I can write my lists right on the shop wall in plain view. Stoked that all the work will pay off in a road trip this summer, and maybe a driving hot rod this fall.

    Here's hopin'.

I threw my list away a month ago since driving weather has arrived. Spring is time to stop playing with parts and start driving. Great if you have something in the garage to work on or if you do it for a living, but for me driving is the end goal. Since then I've put several hundred miles on my roadster just cruising around and enjoying the ride and looking forward to a few thousand more.

Here you can see that General Washington agrees and wishes he had a '32 roadster back in 1776 but he left his flux capacitor in France:

Here I parked in front of Eastern State Pen back in early April waiting for the ghost of Al Capone to come out and give me some tax filing advice. Coincidentally, I'm now getting the biggest refund I've had in many years so it was worth the wait and I'll put that $ into stuff on my next list.

busy moving to a new home and the best part is I don't have to work out of a tent anymore as it has a large two car garage. sad part is I have to move so no time to work on my project for right now.

I've been putting up with an exhaust leak that needs to get fix. Now that I can lay on the ground without getting cold I've just got to do it.

Getting ready to retrieve the '32 2dr and my wife's '37 out of winter storage and give them the "once over" to make sure they will go another summer. Finished up the hydraulic brake conversion on the '38 coupe so I'm hoping to put some serious miles on that this summer.

Throw a rebuilt motor/tranny in my '57 Chevy panel truck and lower it via drop axle up front with an axle flip in the rear. And rewire it..., better get to work.

Finesse my garnish moldings, some minor body work, and door glass for those late night trips back from the drive-in movies.

My three are all up and running, just waiting for the warmer weather to return so I can drive the roadster again. My winter car is the 48 chevy coupe, the only time I stay off the roads is when they are salted. As soon as we have a good rain, I'm back on the road again. It was a little cooler this spring as I started to put a/c in the 48 so I had to take the heater out but it was usually a warm sunny day when I drove it so it was comfortable. Once the real warm weather returns then I just drive the roadster and the 3w coupe.

Got my rear end mounted, front cross member welded back in. Just have to get this rack and pinion figured out, finish modifying the spindles, mount the steering column, brakes all around, get the T5 installed, mount the clutch hydraulic cylinder, make a drive shaft, mount the radiator, make a new floor pan and then I should be able to drive it. Then I just need glass, upholstery, bodywork, wiring and bumpers.

Crap, why did I make a list.
