Hey, what might be the problem spots for this engine change? Header issues? Stock steering box location? Can it be done without firewall cutting? If you know any project pics, links out there, then share with me.
All projects are just a little different. Mopar is as good a choice as any. The starter could be an issue. Firewall,,yep. You already know you have to do something with the wish bone. Probably won't be able to run hood sides. If you already have the Model A and the motor just start trying to set it in the hole. Sooner or latter you'll get it done. It's just a motor swap. At least it's not another small block Chevy.
I have a 29 Dodge not an A but if you measure a small block mopar not much diff in size. My car came set up for a small blk chev. but when I put in the mopar I used the frame mounts they welded in for the chevy all I had to do was rotate the block mounts 180 degrees and it dropped right in on the chevy mounts. Your main issue will be the starter if you use a steering box..mine has a rack so clearance not a problem..good luck to you
If you use a 57-59 318 water pump ( 2 1/2" ) shorter. You will have to juggle the pulleys to line up. I used this pump on a 360 when I put it in a 89 Dodge Ram 50 .
I fit my SBM 340 in in 29 dodge which is a little wider than a model "A" but did not have to cut firewall at all.....
Any new ideas, where to get pics, info? I thought that Model A is so common hot rod body, that any imaginable engine combo is several times fitted in there! But seems that this one is quite rare.
