If something is visible in a public venue or visible from the public right of way, I doubt you can do anything to stop someone from taking pictures as long as they stay on the public right of way. I didn't look at all the pics, but the ones I saw all appeared to have been taken from the public R.O.W.
While it would be nice if he asked permission, he's not required to. Plus he has posted if you want pics of your car removed from his blog just say so. Kind of an it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
It looks like it's just a blog for people that like old cars and there's no profit motive. The "Awesome Inc" appears to be the company that furnished the template for the blog.

Google street view isn't any different.

People take pics of my cars all the time sometimes while I'm sitting at a red light, doesn't bother me one bit.

i don't think this is a good idea because these streets ARE recognizable by someone. So even if the licence plate #'s are blacked out the car can still be found.

Not cool. If driving down a public street or clearly parked in a place other than a residence or workplace then ok.

Can you post a little more info about your camaro on your profile? Like year and color at least. I just want to make sure that if I see it at a show, I dont ask any questions. Dont want to inadvertantly start a ruckus...:rolleyes:

If that's the biggest worry you have, your life is too simple. Be thankful if that's it.

I ***ume this was your response to his picture of your van. Looks like you invited him to get pictures of the other stuff sitting around:

I was driving the 34 downtown (very small burg) & a guy runs out in the street(my side) to get a picture as I drove by so I showed him his IQ.

I would get rather excited if it is photgraphed on private property. Now that photos are geotagged a thief can identify exactly where the car (or parts) is located. I am paranoid about people taking photos. To me it is taking a risk that I do not want to take. Post a photo on the net and chances are that it is geotagged. The problem is that many people - make that the majority of people do not understand what the technology is doing to deprive people of their right to privacy. Having spent much of my working life in computer R&D makes me a little more wary I guess.

Child molesters and stalkers are using this to find and locate victims. This is scary and if you do not believe me just click on the link below. Privacy is a thing of the past it seems....

Just a thought...I think that anyone printing an image (for monetary gain) of someones hotrod, they should be prepared to gift the owner of the hotrod a product (or a few) that they are selling be it a $20 print or a $400 large tin sign.

I don't mind seeing pictures of my vehicles online, it's when they get me in the picture that's embarr***ing. I was taking a picture of a hot rod at the swap meet last weekend, owner said "$20 for taking a picture". I said "OK, how many you want?"

  17. When I was younger, I spend hours upon hours and days hitchhiking all over Milwaukee with my Brownie Starflash Camera taking photos of cars I thought were cool. Did it as an adult as well......I had albums full of cars from the street. I was never challenged by an owner. Maybe it's the times we live in, but I can't imagine a world where I was so paranoid about having pics of my car taken that I would be bent out of shape over it. Then again, the cars I drive tend to be unique, though not HAMB material. I'm often asked about my current ride (a Pontiac G8) and have never been told that their interest was driven by a desire to tell me what a POS I was driving. I think if the OP had a car that the world lusted after, I might be concerned. Unless your car gets listed in the Thread like " The Ugliest Customs of the '50's", I'd take the capture as a compliment and be thankful that somebody found it note-worthy....but that's me. I take pics of cool cars that I see parked or cruising around, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Part owning an old car.

Yep, like I said before I don't really have a problem with it. But it was a little weird at first. I was mainly pointing out that someone did take pictures of my cars and do something with them. I do think it's a cool blog. I wish he would have asked first, but no harm no foul...

I believe it's harmless but I wouldn't be too happy about him coming on my property to take photos.HRP

  23. So do I give away my paintings? Perhaps a cup of tea & a lie down will soothe?

I cannot for the life of me figure out why someone lists their car, gives all the info... as well as location, phone number and email address.....and then goes through the trouble of blurring the license plate number. Its like using an screen name on an online forum and thinking no one can find out who you are or where you live :)

Yeah I tend to agree this dude and his website is a bit strange, but kinda neat actually. Dont blame him because you insist on driving something that draws a lot of attention. :D

How many threads have we seen about cars rotting in a field. The field might have been owned by someone. Guess I have to stop taking photos at events and posting the here.

I have people ask to take pics of my car all the time. I usually tell them sure, how can I control what you take a picture of? Which is true. If your car isn't in your garage, locked up, then it's fair game for the public. Welcome to old car ownership. Be glad they admire it enough to take the time and go with it.

Common occurrence. Had people hanging cameras out their car windows my last trip to Los Angeles. I considered it a compliment.

It never even occurred to me that I 'own" the image of my car that I drive in public. Using it for commercial purposes is obviously different. When people ask if they can look at it or take pictures, it seems like a unnecessary, but polite. Posting info that would give away your location is also clearly a different issue.
I like the guys comment that if this is what you worry about, your life is too simple.
