1949 plymouth bumpers have been done before, thought the wagon contour followed the body line well. Kinda hard visualize without fenders. but what do you guys think? 2 attached pics that were my inspiration

The 1935 Ford is a really great looking car, and the 1949 Plymouth bumpers are really great looking bumpers. But for me personally they do not go together to well.
I know it has been done before. But I always feel the bumpers are a bit to heavy for the elegant lines of the 1935 Ford.

my 35 has a 40 rear bumper i think. It looks good and id like to find something for the front instead of the stock one.

I like the 40/41 Lincoln bumpers for a early custom but probably very hard to find.

  5. I agree with Rik on this one. My preference is for something slimmer....'37 Desoto, '41 Ford, '40 Olds, and a few others....

Those are all wallet-busters for me, so I'm leaving the stock bumpers on mine for now. Not that this is a bad thing...the stock '35/36 stuff is better than almost everything else out there anyways.

Glad to see it on the car! I think it looks good, but would love to see it with the fenders on. What do you think?

I'm looking at bumpers for my 35 custom also. Leaning towards 37 Desoto or 41 Ford. I'll be watching this for other choices. Check out Riksters custom car website. Tons of info there.

I like the wagon bumper, I did the same thing on my 51 ford, I am using a 50 Chrysler wagon bumper on it, it has a smaller center section also like the one you are using, the wagons all had that to clear the rear mounted spare for those that don't know why they were made like that...Jim

Looks to bulky for a custom. I like originals much better.

I agree with most that the Ply bumper looks a little heavy on a kustom 35/36 Ford but your wagon bumper is looking better than the norm. This is what i lean toward on a kustom 35/36 ford

  16. On my '35 I built in the early '70s,I used a narrow, center rear"bumper",it was just as wide as the actual tailpan and not behind the fenders.....it was the =top portion= of a factory[accy] front bumper overrider, from a '59 Impala.....it bolted to the holes on the body for stock bumper brackets.

  18. To me...yes! Kinda hard to tell in the pics, but they look like original Desotos. Where'd you find 'em?
