Well we had the first Neb. HAMB bash and it was somewhat of a flop as to what I was expecting. (the weather was great) We had a dozen cars and right at 16 people show up. We had tons of food as I was planning on at least 50 people. So I will be eating baked beans for a few weeks. But thats alright with me. (might freeze some & send to Larry)
Thanks to everyone that took the time to come to this event. I put it on to meet some of the local Neb. HAMBERS with-in this great state.
But with out a lot of people we had a great time and had some good food.
Thanks to everyone that brought things for the food table. I might do this next year if enought interest is posted.
Thanks to Fred for some great sausages & Church's wife for the killer brownnies. a stickey goes out to 37 chev. for making the 3 hour trip. and Marvin from Kansas for the 180 mile drive to Marquette. The wife & I had a good time along with everyone that showed up.
THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT MADE THE TRIP.

    Mayor Dennis

Well, crud, I missed this whole thing. Not sure this week end would have worked out as We had kids attending prom yesterday and My eldest son visiting from UNL. Not that he wouldn't have been up for going. Hope next year the weather warms up earlier and the meet and greet can fall on a week end with no Prom and lot's of time to hit the road for Marquette. Now... let's find out where marquette is...

Wish I could have made it. I was trying like hell to get the '51 done. I just moved last summer and all the neighbors had to stop by and see what the new guy in the neighborhood was working on. Thanks for the invite and hope to meet all the local HAMBERS soon.

    Dennis -

Try it again next year for sure. A date set two or three months ahead would really help. It's just so hard to do things on short notice anymore. I like to think of myself as a pretty laid-back guy, but it seems like life today is keeping everyone waaay too damn busy.

    Thanks again for the effort.

P.S. Where can I see some more pix of your deuce?

You can also contact me regarding a flier for the event. I'm sure I can come up with something you'll like to help get the word out.

Thanks for posting some photos and making the trip to the 1st Nebraska HAMB BASH.
I do think I will try it next year and see if we can get more HAMB members to show up as they missed a great time for sure. My wife is still talking about the dish your wife brought for the food table. She wanted to thank you for bringing her along with you, and enjoyed talking to her.
I think the key to a better turn out is to set the date early and just pray for nice weather. That way everyone can plan around it.

ANY FEED BACK AS TO WHAT EVERYONE WOULD LIKE TO SEE FOR A DATE NEXT YEAR?
    Mayor Dennis
