I used to live in IN and my roommate was from Kokomo, check out "The Hip Hugger" while you are there if it is still there.

You can stop by my place on your way back home. Ha Ha Ha

You need to dilly dally around a bit and stay for the Pileup in Morris, IL. The midwest's premier (Read Only) traditional hot rod event.

The Hip Hugger. Girls, ****ies, Dollars. Remember Larry, Darrell, and his other brother Darrell? Anything for a buck.

There is also a bar there called Rookies. I used to mess around with the owner's daughter when I was in college. Ha Ha Ha

    I thought so:(
we'll not interested in that place one bit... I have a girl ( that i love very much) back home and she has enough to see in that department, plus i'm straight edge and i don't drink or smoke as well:)

I want to see Cars and meet Hambers ...not see ****s and meet strippers while i'm out there!
    any cool car shops near?

Well then, your best chance is to head down to Indy and run around there. there are lots of folks there with hot rods and some old Indy car shops and museums. Depends on if you can get away or not, I suppose.

In Kokomo you will have a better chance of someone taking you out Mud Bogging in their 4wd.

  8. hey cab,
looks like randy d and i will be heading up to the park. if you want, you can come back to indy with us. i have a party to go to saturday night. you could come along if you want. it's at a buddy 's house who has a lot of neat old car stuff and othe old junk. after that i'm heading to the lovely Melody Inn (kick *** old bar built on the 30's) for the Punk Rock Night Music Awards. if you want to sack out at my place, you can and we can get you back to Kokomo sunday sometime. just don't pay attention to the messy house. we have a 19 month old daughter. she doesn't put anything away and takes up enough of our time that we don't either! hahahahahaha! guess i'd better clear it with my wife first huh? she's cool though, so it should be okay. she'll just make me clean house all night tonight.

I’m a few miles away in Lafayette, race BMX but will be riding down in Indy tomorrow or turning wrenches instead. There is a cruise-in at root-beer drive-in joint, can’t remember the name, Saturday evening. It’s right on US31 next to the hospital if I remember right . Went to it a couple years ago. It’s not a big event, open to about anything, tire smoke on US31 was so thick at times you could not see across the road and we didn’t see a cop all night. Last weekend there would have been cars all over due the James Dean Run.

After the demo around 6PM i went over to the steak and shake off hwy31 and saw a few nice cars, most of them were street roddish and not my cup of tea.

    here's a few cool ones:

things are a little different in the midwest, nice resto though!

I wonder if this will be a new trend for the older generation car owners?

All in all i had a great time out in Indiana last weekend, there's some nice people out there, an awesome cement skatepark built and nice cars as well ...it's always a pleasure for me to see what going outside of California at times:)

Those Indy guys are all ***s. That is why I like them.

I am sure there was a story behind Thom being on the crutches. Did he try out the new skate park too?

Certainly someone from the Indy crowd made it to the Hip Hugger, right?

I heard about this, you had just told me about hitting your head the first day you got the bike. At least your son is learning what not to do. It sounds like that bike needs to go, drop it off at my house.
    Talk to you later.

Ouch:( I broke my ankle once before as well in '91 and it ****ed! Didn't have to have surgery though, so i was very fortunate and it healed quickly and properly and i was skateboarding in a few months again. I hope you heal up soon, that looks gnarly, so i feel your pain.

maybe this will cheer you up, i saw this (so is this what a "rat rod" really looks like?) at the Steak and Shake that night... enjoy!

best wishes and nice to meet you guys, they are thinking about having it again next year, so i'll be back again. Come earlier so you guys can watch the skate demo:)

Man, you look slightly swollen there. Hope it is doing OK. If you are out of commision for a while and can get out come by the house if you get bored. I'll be in the garage working on my floor.
