Doing my brother's brakes in my garage this weekend and I manage to spray brake cleaner in his eyes! Luckily he wears gl***es.
And I explained to him....that's why I usually drop my tools and hang out when my friends drop in while I'm in the garage.
Call me weird but I couldn't live with myself if I hurt someone when making a stupid move while working on my hot rod.
Does anyone else feel this way?????

  2. Ya, I'd be pretty upset if I hurt your brother.

  4. I've done more work by myself than with company. It's been the same way for over 30 years, and I'm 46. I do like company and help when needed, but I don't need company to watch out for me while I get something done.
Yes, I've endured some minor injuries at work and at home. I'm a farm boy.
If you're not doing anything, you won't make any mistake on what you want to do. That might be your first mistake by not doing anything and waiting.
I'd really enjoy working one night with one of my brothers, not picking of either of the two, on any of my projects. My brothers are younger and live many miles away from my place and where we grew up.

If someone comes over while I'm working on a project I will generally hand them a recreational beverage, offer them a chair out of harms way, and politely tell them "don't touch my stuff".

I would hope that anyone would feel bad when their stupid move results in another persons injury.

Cool. I always thought it was just me. I always see these pictures of a whole club of guys working at once on one car and think to myself-no freakin way man!

I have friends who can.... and friends who can't. It's important to realize which group each individual belongs to... :D

I had a house mate spray paint in his face when I was trying to teach him how to paint a motorcycle gas tank with a spray bomb. I laughed so hard I had tears. Am I a bad person? I did call the emergency room and ask if I should bring him in. They said no, not if he can still see.

Yes you wouldn't want to hurt anyone. That being said, sometimes accidents do happen. I prefer to work alone, its hard to accomplish anything while carrying on a conversation, being polite, entertaining, etc. And lets face it, sometimes "help" can be frustrating when what seems like a straight-forward thing for you end up being 5 minutes of you explaining what needs to happen and then having to do it yourself cuz your help doesn't get it.

I like to work with my bro we have done it for years. He lives in a different state and we have a few ongoing project when we work together we get **** done and always seem to know when to help or when to get out of the way. Ill take him anyday, most others can play D.J and bartender while I work.

I normally work on my own yet when my dad turns up we work well together and do not get in each others way - sort like we know what the other one is up to and can meld together in a cohesive way. Dont have the same rapport with many others - kinda a special bond that exists between those who think alike

Takes the right person or I'd prefer to work alone, brakes are good cause you can both grab and end and go at it, engine remove and replace should be 2 but they have to know WTF they're doing. Bodywork only a few ill let join in
