Need to purchase a distributor for my 364 nailhead. Looking at two different options with Cost vs Cool vs Performance trade-offs. I have a Weind 3 deuce intake and will run 3 Stomberg 97s in a progressive linkage. I remember reading that running a multi-carb setup stay away from a vacuum advance distributor unless you block off the secondaries. Because I want to run 97s, I would have to take vacuum out of the riser (which is under constant vacuum) and the distributor will always run advanced.

    Leaning to mechanical advance…

I am looking at the two following options. Both appear to have mechanical advance capabilities. What are your experience with these distributors in a multi-97 configuration?

    Any other recommendations?

    V/R,
    Kevin

Give Russ Martin at Centervile auto repair a call.
He will steer you in the right direction.

How about using a stock cast iron, rebuilt with curve, delco
    cap and electronic ignition?
Pure old school looks and reliability.....has that hotrod look.
    $300.

Doing a couple tomorrow will load a pic or two...

Those Hunt Magneto look alikes have not been reported to be overly reliable. The MSD is very modern billet looking. Get a stock distributor, put a PerTronix in it like Ryan just did with his Riviera, and it the stock distributor needs rebuilding or the advance curve tuned up, send it to Bubba (actually I'd do that anyway to know what you have for a good solid ignition)
