Hello, I just recently purchased this '59 Ford F100 ,it has the 223 6 cyl engine with the 3 spd manual trans.I'm looking to either put in a 3spd OD trans or something else that might fit the stock bellhousing.Anyone know what would fit this in a 4 or 5 spd ? Also would the 3spd OD parts bolt onto the standard 3 spd (tailshaft, and other parts?) or do I need to use the complete 3spd OD trans.
    Thanks for the help Smitty.

You can't simply add the OD section to your regular standard 3 speed trans. You would have to locate a complete OD trans to install. As far as other choices, there is the mid 80's Ford F150 four speed toploader (4th gear is an OD ratio) or the T5 five speed from the mid to late 80's Chev S10 pickups. Either of these options will require adapters and other mods to fit your engine and vehicle.
