Here's a few pics of my '41 Plymouth I just bought. Stock drivetrain, runs drives. I'll post some more pics later today. What's a preferred site to use to create "thumb nail" pics? [/IMG] [/IMG]
I have 4- 6.00 x 16 WW ready to install and want to drop her down some ( 3" ?) Am I correct that aerostar CC850 coils will work on the front end? Can I use flat 3" lowering blocks for rear or should I use 3" blocks with 2 degree taper? I plan to keep stock drivetrain, new interior upholstery (door panels, headliner and recover seat), and eventually re-paint. For know get her road worthy and drive.
Welcome to the Old Mopar Club. We've even got a group. Not specifically for the 41 but they are basically the same care anyway. Please join http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=743
Fatman fab makes dropped uprights.... I used them and loved um. I am not a fan of the spring drop.... WHen you do the fatman fab uprights you have to switch steering arm side, and bend the one on the left I think, and retaper. It is real easy or have a local weld shop do it.... I also did a brake tech solutions 11 inch disk brake conversion and an eci belcrank set up for the pedal in stock location.... I think I had $800 into it all.... Fatmans link is under..."Stop Drop and Roll" ***le. ps; stay away fro plydo, just look at the return policy it says it all...
Great looking car, good luck with it. What straps are you using on the trailer? I like how they web over the tires like that.
Awesome!! another Plymouth guy. Check out our social group..Great looking car. Will be watching for your updates..
Check out my thread for lowering the stock suspension. I used Fatman dropped uprights and Scarbird disc brake kit. For the back used Butch's cool stuff for 3" dropped blocks
[/IMG] interior pic. I'll get a few more soon. Sorting out the wheels. Had to immediately remove the rear tires - 215/85R16 Goodyear Wranglers (meets or exceeds OEM specs...) and doing a once over on the ch***is. Very clean underneath. Exhaust system needs to be replaced.
There is something ***y about this era of Mopars - I've got a 39 Desoto coupe and think the lines are the last great effort at styling before they went off course after the war for a time
Nice score. One of the few Mopars that's not ugly. Congrads. By the way, if you don't want that visor, you can give it to me. Peace
Beautiful! I built a plastic model of one of these when I was in High School... 30-some odd years ago! It was always one of my favorites - Congratulations and good luck!
Check out Brian's (englands54) '41 Plymouth. Stunning, beautiful car !!! My wish/plans is to end up with as close as an example or clone of his car. Thanks for the answers on the suspension drop, I really appreciate that. For now I'm gonna do the inexpensive version. 3" blocks in rear, aerostar coils up front, and new shocks at all 4 corners. Less than $200 in parts, and my free labor. Even if the aerostar coils don't work on the '41 Ply they won't go to waste. I can use them on one of my Merc's ('51 or '53) or my DD (2wd Aerostar). some items from the goodie bag: 6V bullseye head lamps, lower front fender stainless moldings, rear bumper wings (one in pic, have both sides) and some new tail/trunk lenses. Very cool Plymouth, your plans will make it into a very nice cruiser. Is that a single Appleton spotlight on the drivers side? CRUISER
